Magic Pyramid & "Cleopatra and the asp" by Rick St Dennis

That´s what I came up with: I made a gift box for a friend, whose wife is celebrating her 30th birthday. She is a fan of Ancient Egypt and will get a vintage jewellery set. Therefore I decided to make a pyramid, constisting of 3 boxes. So the ring, the necklace and the bracelet can be packed separately.

Und hier kommt mein Projekt: Ich fertigte eine Geschenkbox für einen Freund an, dessen Frau dieser Tage ihren 30er feiert. Sie ist verrückt nach dem Alten Ägypten und dem Pharaonenreich, deshalb entschloss ich mich eine Pyramide zu entwerfen, die aus drei Boxen besteht. Somit können Ring, Armband und Halskette separat verpackt werden.

 

I couldn´t find a template for my idea. So I had to sit down, using a pencil, paper, the set square and my brain :): Poor me! But - what a surprise - it worked from the beginning. 

Natürlich konnte ich keine Vorlage für meine Idee finden. Somit musste ich mich also hinsetzen, Bleistift, Papier, Geodreick und mein Hirn benützen :). Gute Güte, tat ich mir leid! Aber - oh Wunder - es funktionierte von Anfang an.

Each element can be turned on it´s own axis - because I have fixed the boxes with brads.....

Jedes Element kann um die eigene Achse gedreht werden, da ich die Boxen mittels Brads verbunden habe....

 

Each box is ready for the jewellery set :).....

Und jetzt warten die Boxen darauf, mit dem Schmuckset befüllt zu werden.....:)

POP UP KARTE "EIN MÄRCHENHAFTER GEBURTSTAG" / POP UP CARD "A MAGICAL BIRTHDAY"

I hope you are all well and your holidays and vacations are fabolous. Today I am back with our brand new challenge over at Avenue 613 Create ! I am still happy and honored to be part of GDT. This weeks optional twist is a really easy one: "Birthday". Like always the theme is "Anything Goes", our fantastic sponsor: The Paper Shelter.

Ich hoffe, es geht euch allen gut und ihr verbringt fantastische Sommerferien. Heute möchte ich euch wieder einmal einladen, an unserer brandneuen Challenge bei 613 Avenue Create teilzunehmen. Ich gebe zu: Ich bin noch immer glücklich und auch stolz Mitglied des GDTs zu sein :).

Unser Thema diese Woche lautet wie immer "Alles geht", optional stehen "Geburtstagswünsche" auf dem Programm. Also: Einfacher geht´s wirklich nicht, oder? 

My godchild Sonja will recieve a book of fairytales to her birthday. Therefore I decided to make a Pop Up Card (my second one :)). I have used "A Smart Snowhite" by The Paper Shelter and combined it with Gnomey Harry, which I bought at Make it Crafty. Like always I have used a loooot of my watercolour pencils (by Faber Castell). Finally I cut out the images fussily (*whew*) and mounted them on the cardstock.
I guess, I had so much fun creating this "magical" scene :).

Mein Patenkind wird zum Geburtstag ein Märchenbuch erhalten. Passend zum Geschenk entschied ich mich abermals eine Pop Up Karte zu machen (meine zweite :)), verwendete dazu den Digistamp "A Smart Snowhite" von "The Paper Shelter" und kombinierte das Motiv mit "Gnomey Harry", den ich bei "Make it Crafty" erworben habe. Koloriert wurde wie immer mit viiiiiiielen Aquarellstiften von Faber Castell.
Zum Schluss schnitt ich die Motive aus (so penibel wie möglich :)) und montierte sie am Cardstock.
Ich muss gestehen, es machte wirklich irren Spaß diese märchenhafte Szene zusammen zu bauen :)).

Card´s outside is kept very simple. I used the background from the "Snowhite"-Digi Set by The Paper Shelter.
Die Außenseite der Karte ist absichtlich sehr schlicht gehalten. Ich habe dafür den Hintergrund aus dem Schneewittchen-Set von "The Paper Shelter" verbraten :).

Martha Stewart (for the frame), roses from WOC, water colour pencils by Faber Castell, punches

CHRISTMAS IN JUNE & JULY: YUMMY :))

Hi, everyone!

Our premiere last Thursday was  a great success - but it was a very cold evening (12 degrees celsius:)). Therefore I decided to create some christmas cards and to combine this strange idea with some nice challenge themes *LOL*.

Elisabeth Bell´s Challenge Blog is calling for  "A Little Yummy For Your Tummy", and I have used Willow with gingerbread, a rubber stamp, which I have bought last year at Whiff of Joy. 
I prefer to make book cards because they are always lovely small gifts.

Unsere Premiere am letzten Donnerstag war ein voller Erfolg, allerdings war es extrem kalt (12 Grad). Kein Wunder, dass mir an diesem Abend die Schnapsidee kam, die ersten Weihnachtskarten zu basteln und diesen Unfug mit ein paar netten Challenges zu verbinden :)).

Elisabeth Bell´s World Challenge Blog verlangt nach  Kreationen, auf denen Leckereien zu sehen sind. Also habe ich die kleine Willow mit Lebkuchenherz ausgepackt, einen ganz süßen Stempel, den ich im Vorjahr bei Whiff of Joy gekauft habe.
Ferner habe ich mich entschlossen, einmal mehr eine Buchkarte zu machen, weil ich finde, dass diese immer wieder nette kleine Mitbringsel sind. 

 Nevertheless I hope the summer will be back soon :)).

just a quick post to show you my 2nd Guest Design for our challenge at 613 Avenue Create.

I gave this card to my godchild Sarah. She moved to Tokyo for one year (because of her  parents professional duties).

hier kommt eine schnelle Notiz für mein zweites Gastdesign beim 613 Avenue Create-Challengeblog. Pop Up Theater Karte mit besticktem Anhänger

Hallo, ihr Lieben!
Falls ihr euch fragt, ob ich jetzt endgültig durchgeknallt bin, weil ich das gleiche Werk in zweifacher Ausführung, nämlich auf Englisch und Deutsch, poste.......Nein, bin ich nicht. Glaub und hoffe ich! Mir ist bei extrem langen Postings einfach das Herumgehopse zwischen den Sprachen zu mühsam - und außerdem wird´s zu unübersichtlich. 
Ergo: Englischsprachiges Posting kopiert, deutschen Text reingeschrieben. Fertig :).

Sodala. Doch nun zu den Neuigkeiten:
Ich wurde gefragt, ob ich Gastdesignerin bei 613 Avenue Create werden möchte? Nun denn, ich wollte. Besucht uns doch einfach in unserer "Nachbarschaft". Bei den Challenges ist grundsätzlich alles erlaubt, in der Regel gibt es auch ein zusätzliches Thema. Dieses Mal: "Für jemand Besonderen". 
Ach ja, und "männlich" sollte dieser jemand auch noch sein - oder zumindest die Karte :)). Unser Sponsor ist diese Woche Rick St Dennis. Ich liiiiebe seine Motive - und ihr werdet gleich wissen, warum.....

Ich benötige eine besondere Karten für einen der Hauptdarsteller meines Theaters. (Die Premiere ist in etwas mehr als einer Woche. Und jaaaa, wir schwitzen deshalb schon ganz gewaltig. :)).

Als ich die Bilder von Rick St Dennis das erste Mal sah, wusste ich, dass sie ideal für mein kleines Projekt sein würden:
Captain Mc Steeme und Kaualani. Sind sie nicht ein wunderhübsches Paar? Sie sehen doch aus, wie die Hauptdarsteller in einem Theaterstück, oder etwa nicht? :)) 
 

Vorderseite und Anhänger:

Die Außenseite der Karte bedeckt ein Anhänger, der zugleich die Flügeltüren verschließt. Schlägt man das Tag zurück, springt die Karte quasi von alleine auf.

Ich war mir nicht sicher, ob diese Idee, die in meinem Kopf völlig unproblematisch war, auch in der Realität funktionieren würde - aber siehe da, Theorie und Praxis klaffen doch nicht zwangsläufig auseinander *gg*.

Und obwohl meine Karte für einen Mann gemacht wurde, hab ich dennoch Maschen montiert und ein paar Stiche genäht.....Und bevor hier der allgemeine Aufschrei der Empörung erfolgt, dass das SOWAS von unmännlich wär..... 

Meine Rechtfertigung ist der THEATER-VORHANG! :)

Eigentlich wollte ich einen Hintergrund malen, der ein bisschen nach Kulisse aussieht. Aber dann fand ich einen Vintage Hintergrund via Create with TLC und habe diesen einfärbig und recht zart koloriert. Sehr praktisch - und zeitsparend :).

Und hier kommt noch eine Nahaufnahme unseres Traumpaares.....

.....sowie einen Blick auf die - de facto - recht simple Pop Up Konstruktion......

  ....und zum Schluss noch die geöffnete Karte in ihrer Gesamtheit, damit man sich eine bessere Vorstellung dieses seltsamen Konstrukts machen kann..... ;).
